Small Groups

During the school year, we have several options for growing in your love and knowledge of scripture.  Learn more about each of our offerings in the descriptions below.  All Bible studies are open to anyone who wants to participate.
Men's Small Group Bible Study
Tuesday Mornings at 6:00 a.m.
Burke United Methodist Church

Every Tuesday morning, a group of guys comes together for coffee and Bible study.  We meet to grow community and also grow in our love and knowledge of God's word.

Our studies sometimes center around how to be the man God wants us to be.  Other times we have studies that follow the sermon or simply walk through an entire book of the Bible.  Our topics are as varied as our group and are mostly chosen by participants.

Sack-lunch Bible Study
Thursdays at Noon
Burke United Methodist Church

Designed for a lunch break (about 50 minutes), our Sack-lunch Study helps those who are busy but still want to learn more about scripture and have holy conversations over lunch.  Participants are welcome to bring their lunches with them to this study so that they can eat while also engaging in the studies that we're walking through.

Our studies mostly follow the sermon we've heard on Sunday or help us engage scripture by studying a whole book of the Bible together.

Sunday Sermon Study
Sundays at 3:00 p.m. at the Burke UMC
Sundays at 5:00 p.m. at the Herrick UMC

Sunday evenings at the Burke UMC are the home of our Sunday Night Bible study.  We meet together for conversation and study of scripture.  We build community around the table through open, honest discussion based on what we've heard that morning from the pulpit.

Our studies are connected to the sermons presented in worship and allow for deeper conversation about the scripture at hand than what a normal Sunday morning allows us.
